Guestbook alternatives?

what are some great guestbook alternatives besides the traditional signature book and polaroids of the guests?

Guestbook alternatives?
Just be creative I know you will come up with something.
Reply:make it into a scrapbook, or include it in your wedding scrapbook. you can space out the signature and add pictures accordingly and add photos from the ceremony and reception. odds are that you are bound to look at a scrapbook more often than a plain photo album because it is personalized and has more color and life to it.
Reply:One cool idea I'm considering is having a wine bottle sitting at the entrance, then the guests write good wishes or just sign the bottle with special pens. Then you can save the wine for your one or five year anniversary.
Reply:I hate it when people use those instant photo guest books and think they're unique!

Dont do that,please.
Reply:I'm not sure who makes it...but there is a glass bowl that comes with an etching tool and guests etch their names into the bowl...then you can have it forever and use it when you entertain or to put flowers in or candy..or whatever! It's something that you can enjoy all the time!

put in picture frame w/mat that can be signed by guests
Reply:I went to a wedding one time where at the reception they handed everyone a recipe type card when they came in %26amp; each person wrote down what they think it takes to make a marriage last.
Reply:we got a picture matt that we put our wedding photo in %26amp; had guests sign that.
Reply:Yes - the matted picture as a place for all the guests to sign so you have a framed picture of the couple and a remembrance of all those attending. At least you can hang and enjoy it - what ya gonna do with a book?
Reply:-I've seen a quilt being made with pre-cut pieces of fabric that your guest sign.

-I've seen a time capsule being done, there are pieces of paper that the guest filled up and then plave in the capsule to be openend 10 years later along with some mementos fron their wedding

-Have seen a piece of framing that guests sign and then the couple uses it as a background to frame their wedding picture

-Scrapbook with pieces of paper with good wsihes signed by the guests

-Wish tree. Have a branch on alarge vase and then guest tie little tags with ribbons that they tie to the branches, Cute, original and a great focal point.

Good luck
Reply:We did a wish bowl. Basically a pretty glass dish , some blank cards and a couple of pens.We asked guests to write down some advice, or a memory of either the bride or groom or even draw a picture if they wanted to. They put the completed cards in the bowl and my mother made a scrapbook for us after the wedding and she used the cards. We got a bit of everything, some cleaner than others (we didn't use those...lol) but we are both very pleased with the result.
Reply:Use a lampshade as a guest book. Just place the lamp with the shade (paper works best since fabric tends to make the markers bleed) on the reception table with a permanent marker, and your guests can sign their names and wedding wishes for posterity. Simply explain that people will be writing on the shade. The lamp then becomes a daily memory of your special day when you bring it back home.

best wishes...........................
Reply:You could do a video guest book. Have someone walking around with a video camera having guests send you their best via video instead of just signing their name in a book. It would be something you could hold on to forever just like a regular guest book but you could pop it in your dvd player and run it when guests come over or whenever you want to remember your day!
Reply:I've seen people have their guests sign a platter that they later display in a china hutch.

I'm probably going to do a tree - buy or make some sort of a small tree, then provide small pieces of cardstock with ribbon going through one corner. The guests write their well-wishes and hang it onto the tree. Then I'll go back and put all of the notes into a scrapbook.
Reply:Have a picture of you and your finance blown up and then matted onto a board that can be eventually framed. Have the guests sign the matted area around the picture with silver Sharpies.

Good luck!
Reply:I am doing a quilt - seems a bit old fashioned but quilting where I live is a big thing now! When people come in they will grab a square of material and a permanent marker and write a good wish, piece of advice, etc. Then I am taking it to the quilt shop where we will piece it together and they will sew it for me! We can use it with our children, display it as a wall hanging, anything we like. I've mentioned it to a couple people and they said they have never seen that done. All my cousins did the picture wih signatures, which is lovely, but I wanted something different. I hope that helps!! Good luck and best wishes!
Reply:They have large frames with wide width matting that you could have on a table when you first go into your reception. You can find these at Michaels or other Art/craft/frame stores.

You could pick your best engagement picture and put it in there. (For the reception the glass is kept off) Signatures and well wishes are a great memory, and also can be hung in your new home. My nephew had a very high end wedding and this looked beautiful.
Reply:We're doing a scrapbook of pictures of the bride and groom w/ our guests through out our lives! It's so exciting. There is going to be enough room on each page for several guests to sign, and the guests can sign with stories or whatever. We're also going to have them sign with colored pens and pencils
Reply:this is what I am using, it is cute, affordable, and different!

Reply:I had a platter. I love it. It's on a stand displayed in my living room. I can see it everyday and be reminded of all the wonderful family and friends I have.

Reply:We are doing something similar to this idea I found on Martha Stewart's wedding site, but we will use fall colored card stock for people to write on:

I like this idea because it gives the guest a little more room to sign than a regular guest book. Also, if you do this you may want to have a few pens so several guests can sign at once instead of waiting in a long line.
