Classmates.com says I have 61 visitors, 5 people that have signed my guestbook, & 2 left notes on my "board" ?

I do know one person that left a message on my board and she must have a gold membership since I could read it. My question is... with all of the scamming I'm hearing Classmates.com is doing (putting fake people in there as your "visitors") - what are the odds that those 5 people that signed my guest book and the other person who left a message are real? Recently Classmates has now added the beginning words to the mystery person that left something on my bulletin board and it says "Hello (my name)... our family says hi and th....." , Seems like a rip, but for a few dollars I'd be willing to view it if I knew it were real. I am also aware that it is very hard to get rid of them trying to bill your account after you cancel.

I think you answered your own question with that last sentence. It might be more than a "few dollars," not to mention the stress you'd have with the hassle.

Hope that helps.

Website where I can make a spiral bound photobook/guestbook?

Website where I can make a spiral bound photobook/guestbook?
Wedding Guest Book

Materials:

Guest book

Satin or brocade fabric

Large heart-shaped frame

Adhesive-backed ruffled ribbon

Quilt batting

Craft pearls on a string

Silk roses

Ribbon

Fabric embroidered with the word guests

Remove the pages from the guest book.

Open and place the guest book flat on the wrong side of the fabric. Cut the fabric large enough to leave 1" excess fabric all the way around the book.

Apply fabric glue to each of the four corners on the inside of the cover. Pull the fabric around to the inside, and secure to each of the corners. Run a line of glue along the sides, top and bottom of the book on the inside of the cover, and glue the fabric down, covering the book (figure G).

On the inside of the back cover, place adhesive-backed ruffled ribbon along the raw edges of the fabric to cover them. The ribbon will extend beyond the edges of the cover of the book to create a decorative border (figure H).

Cut a piece of adhesive-backed ruffled ribbon the length of the front cover of the book from top to bottom, with a little extra to go around to the inside. Place it on the front of the book approximately 2" from the center, parallel with the rings of the book.

Complete the placement of adhesive-backed ruffled ribbon around the inside front cover of the book as described in step 5.

To decorate the front of the book, make a padded heart as described above, using a large heart-shaped frame. Decorate the edge of the heart with pearls. Slide a decorative piece of needlework embroidered with the word guests into the center of the heart. Embellish with additional pearls, ribbon and flowers, if desired, and replace the pages (figure I).

Hi guys,

I have designed a very simple guestbook using a mysql database and php to link to my website but am having problems getting it going. Am fairly new to this kind of programming so I am sure its something simple ..... Basically .....

I have a mysql database called MRCADB

%26amp; a table within called GUESTBOOK

I have 3 php pages:

GUESTBOOK.PHP

----------------------------

%26lt;table width="400" border="0" align="center" cellpadding="3" cellspacing="0"%26gt;

%26lt;tr%26gt;

%26lt;td%26gt;%26lt;strong%26gt;Test Sign Guestbook %26lt;/strong%26gt;%26lt;/td%26gt;

Im sure that seems fairly straight forward to you php geniuses!

I have linked the GUESTBOOK.PHP page to my index and when you click onto the link it comes up with the form to add to the guestbook - as I expected.

When I try adding to the guestbook I get an error message that reads "CANNOT SELECT DB"

Further - if I try to view ADDGUESTBOOK.PHP or VIEWGUESTBOOK.PHP I get the same message.

It is obvious that it cannot select the database .... i'm just not sure why! Am I right in thinking that it is connecting to mysql but not finding the database within?

I have set up the mysql on my web server etc - it must just be something small! Aggggghhhhhhhh! Any idea's?!

Ta in advance! :S

That sounds right; maybe caps is an issue? You capitalized the name way at the top but not in the codes, I'm not positive if the real name is capitalized, but it will not let you connect if the cases are different.

Check out this website I made for my friend. http://www.izzy.300mb.info there is a forum and guestbook too!!!!

How do I make a "mini-guestbook" sort of thing for my website?

http://doodlebug.desktopcreatures.com/

at that site, on the right there is a box that says details about the drawing, and if you look above it, it says "comments." If you click there (it probably won't show it, u have to be logged in), it allows you to right a comment, and then it shows the comments. like a guestbook. is there a way i can make one of these for my website with html (or any of those sort of things)? sorry kinda confusing question.

How do I make a "mini-guestbook" sort of thing for my website?
Typically those guest book and comment sections are part of a pre-packaged deal that the website you are looking at is built off of. Blog engines like Blogger and Wordpress have comments and guest book like functionality built in. You could roll your own, but that might take a little dynamic programming (like with ASP.Net or PHP). Or you can try some 3rd party guest book widgets. I did a quick search for you and found this link... http://www.widgetbox.com/tag/guestbook

might be something there of use.
Reply:It also would not be that hard to build. I have programmed something like it before. As was already stated, there are plenty of third-party scripts that could do that. It just depends on what you want it to do.

I want to have a guestbook entry deleted from a website at Geocities.?

I posted an entry to a guestbook on a Geocities website 10 years ago. I happened to come across it recently, and it is embarrassing as hell. Regretably, I used my real name, and I'm afraid one of my friends, coworkers, or family members might come across it when they search for my name. I have been unable to contact the person who created the page (her email no longer works), Geocities was no help, etc. Is there any way to have the page taken down or at least have my entry removed?

Thank you.

Why doesn't the Guestbook on my website work - when someone signs in it it doesn't show on the page?

It is powered by Website Tonight from GoDaddy. I asked my sister to sign it as the first person - she tried it on 2 different occassions and nothing posted!

Why doesn't the Guestbook on my website work - when someone signs in it it doesn't show on the page?
I haven't used the system so I can't be specific but it will be in your administration area or perhaps it will be called site management. Somewhere, there is a section for you to control what happens when people interact on your site so start going through all the links available for you to manage ANYTHING on your site and you'll definitely find it.

I've used similar things and that's why I suggest looking for administration or moderating sections.

Should I have my guestbook out for the ceremony or reception?

We are having our ceremony and reception at the same location (a restaurant). The ceremony will be on an outdoor terrace and the reception in a room indoors. There will also be a cocktail hour in between in a room just inside from the ceremony terrace. Here's the schedule:

4:00 - ceremony on terrace

5:00 - cocktail hour inside from terrace

6:00 - reception in separate room

I'm wondering where the guestbook should be set out for people. My brother and my fiance's sister's fiance will be seating people for the ceremony, and we could have my fiance's sister man the guestbook during that time, or also seat people for the ceremony and then man the guestbook just before the reception. I just don't know when/where the guestbook is normally put because I haven't been to a wedding in like 15 years. Any help? Thanks.

Should I have my guestbook out for the ceremony or reception?
We are doing both because some people aren't coming to the reception, and just to give people some extra time.
Reply:Have it in all spots. If it were me, it would be one persons job to move the guestbook from place to place. Some of your guests may have to leave after the ceremony or will only come for the reception. Have a little table or stand near the entrance of each place and have someone move the guest book as the day goes on. They don't have to stand by the guest book at the reception, but have it in a location that people will see.
Reply:I have mainly seen them at receptions when you first walk in the door by the place card table. The best thing I saw was a 8x10 frame matte with a picture of the couple in it and you were asked to sign that. The bride has it displayed in her house with their wedding picture over it. It is filled with blessings and loving words from family and friends and totally beats a guestbook that you will never look at again!
Reply:from the sounds of it i would put it where u are having the cocktail hour, as long as people can get to it they will.if people cant get to it in the terrace during the reception pick a spot where it can still be signed during the reception and ask someone to move it there after the cocktail hour.hope i helped.goodluck!
Reply:People usually have it at the ceremony because some might not make it to the reception. In your case since the ceremony and reception are at the same place, it doesn't really matter how you do it.
Reply:I think that usually it's at the ceremony but I don't see why you couldn't have it both places to ensure that everybody gets a chance to sign it. Congrats!
Reply:I'd set it on the table for gifts at the cocktail hour through the reception while people are mingling and dropping their gifts by.

** sounds good to me!
Reply:I would put it at the reception, that's how I've always seen it done. Right inside the door or near the place cards at receptions.
Reply:Put it in the cocktail room during cocktail hour
Reply:I've always seen it at the reception, next to the table where placecards are... so people can see it.
Reply:Only for the reception. Have it at the entrance to the room.
Reply:You can do both.
Reply:Both... some guests my come just for the ceremony or reception...
Reply:it is normally placed just inside the doors of the reception but it is a good distraction for the guests if you need more time at one place or another like if you know you will need an extra 15 minutes to get ready then at the cerimony or if the food is running a bit behind the you would put it in the reception.

there really are very few rules these days, only very old people hang on to things like that anymore and most of them just reilize that things change with time so they are ok with it.

so at weddings it is normally at the reception exspecially if you are having one where they are wrighting a message.

funerals is the only time/ event where the guestbook has to go at the service when they first come in.

Editing online MySQL Guestbook Entry?

I'm curious

I've got a PHP Guestbook on my website with the tables and database hosted by MySQL.

The PHP Guestbook defines the look, as well as how it's displayed (referencing the MySQL database).

I've got a couple of TEST logs in the guestbook that are now viiewable on the site.

My question is, how do I manage/delete these?

It should be located SOMEWHERE on the MySQL Database right?

I assume all the data is logged there, is that correct?

If so, can you direct me as to where i should look?

Cheers guys!

Editing online MySQL Guestbook Entry?
The easiest method would be to use a managing program such as phpmyadmin to log into the database and browse the entries. If your host has php and MySQL then one would hope there is some sort of DB browser included in the package.
Reply:Who are you hosted with? I'm surprised that the PHP Guestbook doesn't allow you to manage entries, but nonetheless, if you've got access to the MySQL db (depending on your hosting provider), you can use their console to view the records and delete the ones you want. Typically this is through an interface like phpMyAdmin, but your hosting company would know - if you've got that info, let me know and I might be able to walk you through it.

Yahoo advanced guestbook?

does anyone know what happened to yahoo's advanced guest book feature? It used to be available in Web Hosting Control Panel under advance tools. Its gone now. I use this for work as a log book. Employess use it to post ongoings of our Motel. Does any one have an idea where i can find this now? I dont have the patience to call yahoo, (very poor past experiences). I also do not need all the extra bells and whistles of the other tools they offer, besides, some of them have glirtches that yahoo wont address.

Yahoo advanced guestbook?
I've really tried to find a solution for you but so far all I'm finding is people who are having the same problem. They keep telling me to delete the darn thing and start over. Grrrrgggg! I feel your pain but aside from contacting Yahoo, I don't know what else to tell you. I found this site http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/geociti...

but honestly, unless you want to reinstall the whole thing not sure this will help you any. If I find anything else out, I promise to come back and place my new-found info in the comments box. Good luck. Really hope you can find an answer to this one. It's a stumper.

Php guestbook thing: What is chmod? How do i do it?

"This file will need to be placed in the cgi-bin of your server and chmoded to a+rx"

My html knowledge includes changing font colors, making links, etc., and some things i've copied and pasted. I downloaded this Guesbook thing from http://www.scriptarchive.com/guestbook.h... and would someone please take a little time to explain to me how to chmod the file?

(Well, I don't really care what it is and if i really want the definition i'll search for it on wikipedia or something... i just want to make the guestbook work. thanks)

Php guestbook thing: What is chmod? How do i do it?
if you're using Windows, you don't have to sorry about chmod. Just right-click on the file, and make sure that it isn't marked "read only." It probably isn't. You'll probably be just fine if you just put the file in the right place and go. :-)

Wedding guestbook, FUNNY/CUTESTY questions to ask about them for home/gift project?
I really hate the questions Celebrity couple, what will the names be, and draw a picture. I think you'll get a lot of "I don't know" type of answers. Plus unless everyone knows you really really want children, if someone says No kids--the next couple questions are blank.

I love how do you know them and words of wisdom. A couple of quick questions would be fun. Prediction type questions.

#2-http://www.alfawedding.com/guestbooks.ht... (The first one)

#3-http://www.studiodaedre.com/in_guestbook...

Which Guestbook Do You Like Best?
I really like the first one because it is more elegant than the rest.

If your flowers are roses, then I would pick the second one to match.

I think the third one is a little childish unless it fits in with your reception decor.
Reply:The first one.
Reply:2, 3, 1.

The first isn't really in your colours, but has a more classic design.

The second is in your colours, is romantic and has a classic design (though slightly more relaxed then the first).

The third is cute as, a little in your colours and will get people to notice it, but the binding seems slightly dodgy.
Reply:Number two is the winner.
Reply:w/your colors 1 or 2

Reply:The one from David's is cute. Apple Red, pretty!

Congrats, sweetie.

I ditched the guest "book" idea and just bought a guest matte...where the guests sign the 11x16 matte and you place a 5x7 picture of you and your groom in the center. You can display it on a shelf or hang it up on the wall.

Reply:i like the second one best but all three are cute.
Reply:I like the first one but you could make that same one for less money and have higher quality. The second is OK. The third looks very cheap and flimsy.

All you need to do is go to any craft store or art supply store. Pick up a nice leatherbound sketchbook and a variety of markers. Then get some satin (lets say red) and cover the book. Wrap a stripe of pink tulle around the front of the book like the one from Davids. On top of the tulle wrap a wide white ribbon then one or two gold cords. Voila! Custom made wedding guest book with all your colors.

For the pens use silk flowers and floral tape. Keep them in a vase and your pens will double as decoration for the guest book table.
Reply:the first 1
Reply:I would go with the cheapest one because your guest book is going to go back into it's box and you'll probably never look at it again. Your pictures and video are what you'll be looking at and going back to. The rest just collects dust. I wouldn't even spend $27 on a guest book I think that's too much for a book that will never be looked at or cared about again. I'm really glad we didn't spend much on ours. It looked nice but it wasn't expensive which is a good thing in hindsight.
Reply:I like the first best. THe other two just don't look as nice as the first to me. The first looks more formal and elegant!

My guestbook and mailbox always is showing older mails and comments, not the new ones that are listed in alert?

There are listed on my 360 page older comments in my guest-book ( about 3 to 4 days ago) and the new comments that got alerted in yahoo mail can not be reached! The same is in my 360 mailbox! Older invites, which I have already answered, are still shown as pending and newer invites I can't reach! The same is with messages in 360 mailbox! In Yahoo-Mail I get alerts about new invites, comments and messages and if I want to read them, I get an error sign and then window jumps back to that older messages, invites or comments! How can this problem become solved?

My guestbook and mailbox always is showing older mails and comments, not the new ones that are listed in alert?
Nothing can be done by you, in terms of fixing the problem.

This is likely a common 360 glitch. If your mailbox and/or comment box was working fine before and suddenly it's not working (i.e. all that's in your question details), then you'll have to wait this out and hope that the problem is "miraculously" resolved soon.

Sometimes this glitch is relieved temporarily during certain times of the day. It would be up to you to check throughout the day to see if the comment box is working correctly at any point in time.

When the Yahoo servers get backed up, then you will see this happen more often, as well as maybe delayed alerts. In the meantime, you can ask people to post comments to your Blog, if it's activated. You can use your blast or blog to make an announcement about the problem.

See http://blog.360.yahoo.com/blog-4D4zxsg6f... for more information on 360 glitches. There is no guarantee that this glitch will be resolved soon. You may have to wait hours, days, weeks or months. You can create a new Yahoo account, then activate the 360 space for it, but it is not guaranteed that you'll avoid the same or more glitches.

NOTE: The Y!360 team is no longer addressing bug reports, as it prepares to migrate parts of Yahoo! 360 to a universal profile system (UPS). This transition was announced in October 2007 and the UPS actually started in a rudimentary beta form on October 16, 2008. The Y!360 part of the system hasn't been transferred over fully yet. But likely when this transition completes, the Yahoo! 360 service will close anyway.

- See blogs at http://blog.360.yahoo.com/product_360 and http://www.yprofileblog.com for more details. The 360 team blog is also accessible via the "Yahoo! 360 News" link in the upper right corner of your 360 space. You can post complaints on the Yahoo! 360 blog, but don't expect a personal response.

Many people use forums instead of the old style guest book feature. Have you considered that?

Soemthing liek Terapad offers forums as standard features to a free website - it may be worth considering.

Wedding guestbook ideas. really unique please!?

I would like to know if anyone has any unique ideas for a wedding guest book?

The picture-frame mat, the plate/vase/tray, the quilt, the card-wish-in-the-jar, and the picture puzzle just aren't unique anymore. They are everywhere! I have found one website that does the fill-in-the-blank pages... www.guestbookstore.com .... which is a great idea. But only half my wedding guest speak English, so those non-English speakers would be excluded. Not what I want to have happen!

Anyone have any NEW ideas? I would love to hear them!

Wedding guestbook ideas. really unique please!?
I love this idea! A unique combination of wedding photo album and guest book combines Polaroid instant photos and hand written personalized sentiments from your guests virtually replacing the traditional name-filled guest book and wedding photo album. Best yet, there is no fill in the blank questions that need to be answered! Non english speaking guests can write in their own languages. Hope this helps :0)

Small guestbook pictures..camara help?

where can a get a camara that gives you the picture right away but the pictures are small.. i rember having one as a kid but for the life of me dont remeber what it was called... i even tried looking for it lol.. so any idea?

Small guestbook pictures..camara help?
I know what you are talking about! it was a Polaroid camera that had a sticky backing. When I was a kid we stuck the pics in our lockers. The Polaroid website lists it as the izone or izone 200 but it is no longer manufactured. maybe you can find one on ebay. Or just get a regular Polaroid camera and some good crafting glue.
Reply:Sorry, I think the only thing I can suggest is a compact digital camera, that way you can adjust the photos yourself and even re-size and print them yourself using your computer and as necessary photo editor software. I leave you with this thought: "A picture is worth a thousand words."

Guestbook / Comments entry on my website? (HELP)?

How do I (using html, preferably) make a box for people to add comments to a page on my website?

Like on here when you hit "answer question" or on how-to sites when you can add comments or stuff like that???

Thanks!

Guestbook / Comments entry on my website? (HELP)?
Using HTML it is not possible. You have to select any server side scripting, like (PHP, JAVA, ASP or .NET).

Then using html you can create a textarea and using server side scripting you can take those values and put it into your database or file system. After that you can display those as you want.
Reply:You can learn PHP. It is easy and good to use.

Guestbook for my cousin - PLEASE READ?

MY baby cousin died at just 6 days old 2 weeks ago, we have opened a guest book for people 2 give their condolences for my Aunt and Uncle to read. If you can post your condolences and your name and where you are from i will post them on the guestbook for you.

Please do so if you can it will be nice for them to see.

Thank you

xx

Guestbook for my cousin - PLEASE READ?
I'm really sorry to hear about your baby. Your baby will always be with you; their spirit will be part of you no matter where you go. I know that you wanted, needed, and hoped for more time to spend with your child but the time you did spend with your baby will never be forgotten. Your child was lucky to have you two for parents even if it was just for a short time. My prayers will be with you and your family.

Nachole PA

Edit: Don't listen to the people that are saying that you shouldn't ask strangers. What you are doing is showing how much you love and care about the parents. Also just because we never met doesn't make a difference. We are all people and more people need to start opening their hearts to the ones they don't know instead of worring about themselves all the time. You are doing a nice thing for your Aunt and Uncle and don't let other discourage you from doing something good.
Reply:hi im so sorry about the death of your cousin. but surely it would be nicer for the parents to see messages from people who knew and loved the baby and the parents, as then it would be more personal. rather than just have random people saying sorry. i hope this makes sence. this is how i personally would feel if it was my baby
Reply:Uhm, first of all I don't know your Aunt and Uncle. Would they appreciate condolences from complete onlinie strangers? Second, there is no link.

My new Guestbook.?

Someone please go to my blog page . . .

( http://blog.360.yahoo.com/blog-rZ_pPLA3d... )

and look at my new guestbook code and tell me how to paste this new "guestbook" into my "Blast". It can be done because I have seen it on some one elses 360 but cannot find the 360 page I saw it on. This will keep the guestbook up front at all times. When you get to my blog and guestbook you should be able to right click and copy or just left click and it will take you to the hosting page.

My new Guestbook.?
I have one of those on my page. What I did was to post it in a blog...like you did...but I gave it a TAG. I noticed that you didn't give yours a TAG. You can still do this by going to that blog with your Guestbook in it...and click on EDIT. Then at the bottom of your blog entry box there is the option to asign a TAG to that blog. Just type something in there and click save.

Once you have it TAGGED you can go to your Tag Cloud (it will show up on the left hand side of your My Blog page) and click on that tag that you just made. It will take you to your Guestbook blog...and that will be the ONLY blog on that page...instead of that one and the previous 4 that you had posted. Now you just need to copy the address that is up in your address bar and paste THAT into your URL section of your Blast. Don't forget to also type something into your Blast field or it wont save your URL.

That is how I put my Guestbook link into my Blast.

Hope this helped you out.

If not, is there a way I can add an HTML guest book ONTO my page? All of the free guestbooks I have just link me to a different guestbook site. So your using the guestbook that freewebs provides for you im guessing... So no you cant add anything to it as of now. Im not an expert in HTML but there is probably a Guestbook generator site (look in google) that will give you a HTML code to put into your site and you can add things around it.

I am unable to approve or delete postings in my guestbook. I clicked finished when done, nothing happens.?

Which guestbook are you using?

Would this work for my guestbook?

So we have decide to do one of these guest books http://www.guestbookstore.com/wedding.ht... . We had been having a lot of trouble figuring out the logistics of the whole thing. Our venue (who is doing all of the set up and breakdown) said that they could place one of the pages and a pen on each of the guests seats of the ceremony, along with a program, then they would have it with them to take to the cocktail hour when they could fill it out. I would either put in the program or attach a note to the pen explaining they should fill it out during the cocktail hour.

I am about the order the guest book but before I do I just want to check that this will likely work. I know not everyone will fill out one but I think all of the people who actually matter will. I feel like I am wasting a lot of money putting one of each and every seat but there is no way to know which seat is going to be occupied by who, and we do not have someone to hand out the programs/guest book pages to each person.

Would this work for my guestbook?
Tough one...I would definitely worry about wasting money on all of the pages that do not get filled out...especially since you will have a lot of couples and only one will probably fill it out for the both. Can you go through your RSVPs and do a rough estimate?

I would consider doing everyother chair. People will see them even if there isn't one on their chair. And if they want to fill one out, then I'm sure they will use someone's that is not being filled out. Just a thought...its a tough one. I didn't look at the price of them but I'm sure they aren't cheap.

Good Luck!
Reply:I just went to a wedding and they had guests sign the guestbook before being seated. Of course someone was there to make sure they signed. They also had a reception that immediately followed the ceremony.
Reply:Personally, I love it.

Very cute and quirky, but still has the feeling that it's not a birthday party, but a wedding.

Two Thumbs Up.
Reply:We are actually hoping to do something similar at our wedding, I thought the price was a little high so I went to DIY bride and found out in her Downloads section she has a guestbook page that is very similar to the one you are looking at, it doesn't have the fancy flourishes on it but you could easily find and download those for free, I downloaded her page and was easily able to change colors, box shapes, lines, fonts, and move things around so it was really personal to us. I am going to have it printed on nice scrapbook paper that I will get on sale at Hobby Lobby or Micheals and then I will just insert it into the scrapbook of our choice, much cheaper option I think and that way I can have one for every guest, if they would like. I have heard people say that they rolled them like a scroll and put them on tables or at peoples chairs and had a couple of pens at each table that people could share, that might be a little difficult to make them flat again, but I like your idea about one per chair, or perhaps have them on a table like you would a regular guest book and people can take them as they enter or exit. Good Luck!

it's a place which people write there comments about ur site, and also they can post jokes if u put the name of the link is post a joke.

I hope I answered ur question ;)

yes, people can post things on it but is probobably not the best place for jokes.

good idea though.

Ok so once all the guests have entered where should i put the guestbook so that if anyone who hasn't?
Typcially you put it at the entrance of the reception site and have a hostess or usher direct people to sign it if they didn't already. Your venue should be able to give you a table or lectern to use to sit the book on.
Reply:Besides the bathrooms entrance. Everyone goes there!!
Reply:Where the seating cards are or inside on the table where the gifts will be placed. If you have a table in the entrance where you seating cards are and you place it there people will see it when they pick up their seating cards and if they can't sign it them they will remember to go back. You can also remind people to sign it, have the dj tell people to do it.
Reply:Just leave it at the table at the entrance to the reception. However, don't leave the gifts or cards unattended.
Reply:If all the guest have entered for the wedding then put it in the entrance for the reception.

If all the guest have entered for the reception then put it at the main exit of the reception.
Reply:have it passed around from one table to the next so that every table can pass it around.
Reply:Keep it in the foyer of the building or church, then have it set up inside the door of the reception. Not everyone comes to both, and this will ensure that it will get signed by everyone.
Reply:i would put it near the program book
Reply:you place the guest book in the reception hall not at the church ( or venue ) guest are escorted in and it will take more time for them to be seated if they are signing the book you should also have enough ushers so that they are not waiting one should be coming back as another is going and so on, make sure you stress this or your wedding planner has this going on nothing makes it look sloppy as guest watiting in the foyer to be seated
Reply:Set up a nice table right at the entrance of the reception.
Reply:You deligate somebody to take it round to each guest.
Reply:Put it anywhere you want to; there is no particular place where you must put the guestbook anyway!
Reply:we put ares outside with a box to let them put the cards in and then when it was the evening we had someone bring it in and pass it round and if they have already signed it they can pass it on
Reply:Put it just outside the exit so they can see it as they leave but they dont block the exit if they want to sign it.
Reply:put it in the foyer or on entering the building....i am sure people will See it if it's on display
Reply:Move it to the reception area.
Reply:I would have it by the gift table.
Reply:Put it at the bar or maybe on a small table with a few gifts. My sis had hers on a little table with some nice pens
Reply:Take it to the reception and put it at the entrance, but at the cemermony you can leave it where it is.
Reply:I got my bridesmaids to go round with mine and made sure that everybody who wanted to signed it. (Make sure they have a pen!)
Reply:start it at the entrance to the ceromony and then move it to the entrance of the reception
Reply:The guestbook should stay where it is throughout the ceremony and is only moved when the ceremony is over so it can be taken to the reception hall for anyone who did not get the chance to sign it at the wedding.
Reply:Usually you can assign someone to bring it around to all the tables at the reception, or you can bring it around with you when you go to visit the guests. If you want to set it somewhere, put it on a table next to the cake since most people will go to look at it.
Reply:on the table
Reply:we moved ours to a table inside the reception area. I had someone remind everyone to sign.
Reply:Keep it on that table. If you are having a reception, take it with you and put in on a table at the entrance of the reception so those attending the reception only can sign it.
Reply:How about near the door, or if you don't have a place for it there on the "punch bowl table".
Reply:right by the front entrances so ever one can see were it is
Reply:Right next to the gift table.

Prefab "guestbook" ....help?

Can anyone tell me where I can find a prefabricated "guestbook" flash source file using PHP. I cannot code something like that with my meager skills. But i can tweak it if someone can provide me a prefabricated one in flash using PHP. So far the several ones I've found by googling suck.

PLEASE ANYONE!! this is driving me crazy.

I need a guestbook that kind of looks like this EXCEPT in a scrolling window.

there are a few sites that list scripts and have a category for guestbooks. If you will find one, it will most likely be listed on one of those.

It's all pretty straightforward. You don't have to know much PHP or anything. Just as long as you have some basic coding knowledge, it should be no problem to install. :)
Reply:Your hosting company might have a preinstall script that does guestbooks for free. Check it out.

If you think Florida should be in the Championship go to gatorfootball.8k.com and sign the guestbook/petition?

Better yet if think that the NCAA should have a playoff system and stop it with the popularity contests, don't watch any of the bowl games this season and stick it to them where they will hear it the loudest, their pockets.

If you think Florida should be in the Championship go to gatorfootball.8k.com and sign the guestbook/petition?
No way they will

1000 signatures or 1,000,000,000 won't change that.

Sorry but Ohio State, Michigan, and USC all 3 would crush them.
Reply:Florida is way down on the list of those who should be in the championship. What about Oklahoma, who really only lost to Texas? Granted, Florida is the best team in Florida this year, but that isn't saying much...

I鈥檝e learned building a guestbook script using Apache, PHP and Mysql

I build a guestbook script and successfully鈥?after submitting it will send the data to the mysql database.

But how can I get from MYSQL Database and display it on HTML File.

If I browse the MYSQL Directory鈥? The format of the database is guest.myi and guest.frm inside the phpguest folder.

Sample format of desired html

TonyPhilippines Tony@xxxx.com Hello

IlonahNew York Il@yyy.net Hi, How are You

Can someone give me the source code on the output getting from the a certain database with a format guest.myi and guest.frm

Thank you鈥?

I鈥檝e learned building a guestbook script using Apache, PHP and Mysql... Please send me sample script?
Well, I'll assume certain things:

1. You know how to connect to the database, as you can connect to it to save the data.

2. The data is stored in a table named "guestbook" and the fields are: "name", "location", "email" and "message".

3. You don't need pagination (show the results in more than one page). If you need to, post another question and I'll answer it.

$results = mysql_query("SELECT * FROM guestbook ORDER BY name"); //you can order by whatever you want

while ($result = mysql_fetch_array($results))

{

echo "%26lt;b%26gt;Name:%26lt;/b%26gt; ".$result["name"]."
";

echo "%26lt;b%26gt;Location:%26lt;/b%26gt; ".$result["location"]."
";

echo "%26lt;b%26gt;Email:%26lt;/b%26gt; ".$result["email"]."
";

echo "%26lt;b%26gt;Message:%26lt;/b%26gt; ".$result["message"]."

";

}

The way these results are shown can be different. That is something you can format with HTML (see http://www.htmlquick.com ). The values are stored in the $result["what"] variables.
Reply:$connection = mysql_connect($dbhost, $dbuser, $dbpass) ;

mysql_select_db($dbname) ;

$resultset=mysql_query("select name,emailid,msg from guestbook");

print "%26lt;table%26gt;";

while($row = mysql_fetch_array($resultset, MYSQL_ASSOC)){

print "%26lt;tr%26gt;%26lt;td%26gt;".$row['name']." %26lt;/td%26gt;".

"%26lt;td%26gt; ".$row['emailid']. "%26lt;/td%26gt;".

"%26lt;td%26gt; ". $row['msg']." %26lt;/td%26gt;%26lt;/tr%26gt;";

}

print "%26lt;/table%26gt;";

optionally use limit start,no to list nos in pages as

select name,emailid,msg from guestbook order by name limit $start,10

If a friend's 7 year old daughter had cancer, what would you write on their guestbook on the net?

Or, what quote would you use to make her or their family feel uplifted? Help me brighten their long days ahead. Thanks.

mention something she likes such as a movie or hobby and/or if there is any upcoming event such as a birthday or outing perhaps mention it as something she can to look forward to.
Reply:Just let them know that you are available to them to help in any way you can. The support is what they need, and hopefully they'll feel comfortable enough to ask if they really do need anything.
Reply:I dont know many quotes Man. All i will say to the family is we are together with them in this tough time. We pray with our Heart and Soul because a part of ourself requires it. May God Bless her and may God give us the strength to go through this!
Reply:I would get to weepy, what can one say to something that sad?
Reply:I would not worry about he words, just knowing that many people care is all they need. Tell them that many a stanger (me, for one) at Yahoo answers is praying for them, because you asked this question.
Reply:You are in my prayers, love, opinionated.
Reply:There aren't any words. Do something nice for them. Just writing down something on a website is an empty gesture.

Reply:Why limit yourself to UK hosting?

The most reliable hosts are in the US and allow any domain extensions (co.uk, net, org, com, etc...).

I personally used to use one called lunarpages. Their bandwidth was massive, down-time was virtually nil and had an excellent front end with all you require plus much more. All from $6.95 per month. A little more than you want to pay but still only about 拢3.65

I'm looking for a guestbook I can customize with CSS, but I don't know PHP, PERL etc....any suggestions?

I'm shopping around for a guestbook to put up on my website. I'm pretty competent with HTML and CSS but don't know jack about PHP, PERL, MySQL etc. etc.

I can't find a remotely hosted guestbook that's FULLY customizable (i.e., one where I can change things like background-position, line-height, etc.), but I can't find a script that I feel competent enough to install and use myself. Any ideas?

I don't think you need to know PHP, but at any rate it comes with a readme file, not to mention that the owner is always willing to help and updates it regularly.

Funeral Etiquette....Signing the Guestbook?

I went to a wake last night.. our neighbors wife passed away. I went with another neighbor and his wife. After I signed the guestbook, he turned to me and said "Are you going to sign your sister/brother in laws names?' ( They chose not to go). I have never been asked to sign someone's name who wasn't there and it took me off guard. What is the proper guestbook etiquette...anyone know ??

Funeral Etiquette....Signing the Guestbook?
The guest book at the funeral home is for people who actually go to the funeral home. You should never sign anyone's name that didn't actually show up there. If your sister/brother in law sent flowers, donations, etc., then that's a different matter. The family should see to it that the appropriate thanks you's are sent accordingly.
Reply:If your in-laws CHOSE not to go then you shouldn't sign their names. If they COULDN'T go, then it's OK to sign their names. At funerals it's sometimes important to show that a family was represented there. This is for the benefit of the grieving family. It let's them know that your family cares. It also serves to help them out by sending one Thank You card for a whole family as opposed to sending many individual ones. Use your judgment and remember why you went there to begin with.
Reply:A guestbook is for those who attend...it is not proper to sign someone else's name unless said person is there.
Reply:You don't sign anyones name who is not there ever. This book is for the family and for them to know who cared enough to be there during their grief. I would never even think of signing anothers name for any reason...
Reply:I've never heard of that before.
Reply:It is a record of those who were there.
Reply:If they simply could not make it, I would consider signing their names. But I would probably not, because I would feel guilty about the dishonesty. Tell them to send the family a sympathy card.
Reply:You sign your own name and no one elses.
Reply:You sign your own name or your spouse's as well if they are with you.
Reply:If you attend.....you sign.
Reply:The guestbook is usually only for those that attend services. Your in-laws can always send a mass card to show their sympathy.
Reply:Sign your own name, not those who weren't there. If the family of the deceased wants to look back and see who was there, they'll see that you were.
Reply:Signing of a guest book can also been seen as a way of condolence. Signing your brothers name would not have been a bad thing.
Reply:the bottom line is, if you don't feel comfortable doing something then do not do it no matter what anyone says.
Reply:It is my understanding that you would sign for whoever actually attends the funeral. This allows the individuals who did not attend to reply in a manner that would be appropriate for them. It is acceptable for one person, though, to represent the family, if that is the family's wish. Hope this helped. MS

The sims2.com guestbook?

I have to ask here because I can't figure out how to post on the sims2 bbs =( soooo, i was wondering how I can read all of my guestbook signings, because i can only read one, and then they say i don't have anymore (even when I should have one unread). hope this makes sense. thank you for your help!

The sims2.com guestbook?
Go to your mail and that should say someone signed your guestbook.

If you have done that then on your guestbook section it should say hide/edit. Click edit and it should show you all of them.

I personally dont like the guestbook because people can only sign once, so I put all my guestbook signings on my blog and then delete them from the guestbook.

What's a guestbook?

can people post things on it? I'm making a joke website and i want people to post jokes on it, so would a guestbook work?

What's a guestbook?
it's a place which people write there comments about ur site, and also they can post jokes if u put the name of the link is post a joke.

I hope I answered ur question ;)

bye
Reply:a guestbook is a page where people leave their names and write how much they enjoyed your site.

yes, people can post things on it but is probobably not the best place for jokes.

good idea though.

try using a forum instead.

good luck :)

Shawn johnson guestbook...?

thank youuuuuuuu

To tell you the truth, I'm not really sure. But I really really hope that you can meet everybody at the 2008 Tour of the Gymnastic Superstars thing because I'm going to the one in Cleveland and I'm first row! It will be fun.
Reply:The was interviewed and she says she checks it once a day and tries to respond, but she is way overloaded. The problem with mailing a pick would be that she probably wouldn't mail back.
